Four new cars and a new FRC driver

Post by gordon »

Guys,

FRC will be seeing at least four new cars in the near future. Leading off are these two beauties from FRC newcomer (but yet to drive the track) Gary Bennett, alias Killer_B on the FRC forum. First off is this beautiful Revell-Monogram Cobra Dytona which Gary pulled out of his old slot car collection on a recent trip back to his home in the USA:

He also bought a brand new Slot.It Ford GT-40 Mk II in a livery never seen at FRC before:

Gary dropped them off to FRC on Saturday evening for me to chip and to put on the silicones he bought for them. They're now ready for their first test on the challenging FRC circuit.

The other two cars belong to yours truly. First off is my new Peugeot 205 rally car:

Only when I saw the picture at actual size did I appreciate the amazing detail that goes into slot cars of the modern era:

My second car was just received today and its a new challenger for our Group 5 Sports Car class, a Ferrari 312PB. This one was driven in 1972 by one of my F1 heroes, the great Ronnie Peterson in his signature blue helmet with yellow visor:

So four new cars and a new FRC driver. Not a bad bit of news, eh?

Welcome to FRC Gary. Hope to meet you soon . I like your cars, particularly the Cobra. No doubt with Gordon helping you to set them up they will be very well sorted. Now you just need some track time !
Gordon I really like your new cars, especially the Peugeot. Look forward to seeing them in action on the track.

Welcome to FRC Gary.
With a name like KillerB I thought the first car I would have seen was an RX7.
A bit disappointed since I am a rotary guy. Anyway you have some nice cars. They are beautiful. Hope to meet you soon.

Gordon like you are getting ready for some real action!

Thank you Gordon for displaying the cars....They do look Great !!! Hope I can honor the originals after some practice...LOL

Thanks for the welcome Steve and Arden...really looking forward to meeting the "gang" !!!

As for the Killer_B handle, it refers to my long time autocross (Solodex) drive, a '66 MGB running in D Mod class.
