Started working on a new Vintage Sports GT car yesterday - a Cobra sports car. Have it about 50% done, however it won't be ready for this week's event. Here are a couple of pics:
It's sitting on a 3D printed chassis and has adjustable front and rear ride height.

Gordon,
It's amazing how over the years your passion for this hobby hasn't faded in the least bit and because of your slotcar enthusiasm plus these interesting pictured projects - and last but not least - the friendship we share ... It's ranked reasons why I'm still onboard even though (sorry to say) I can't remember when last I tuned one of my many model cars to race.
Your Cobra slotcar looks picture perfect just sitting there ..!

Thanks Luke. It isn't really hard to prep a car to race these days, despite FRC's complicated-appearing rules. In fact, the rules are designed to make it possible to equalise almost any car where the body matches the class requirements (eg. an Escort in Historic Saloon or a Ferrari P4 in Vintage Sports Prototype).
You should give it a try again. Just start with one class and one car. You can get lots of help, answers and recommendations from the rest of us. Think of how satisfying it will be to be driving in a competitive position and even winning in your own self-prepared car!

Well, having got a bit of a flu and therefore reducing my exercise regimen somewhat, I found the time needed to work in the car a few more times this week and it's actually finished and ready to run.
Please excuse the full-face helmet... it's the only suitable driver figure I had available. Don't worry though, I'll soon have an era-correct driver head with a '60s open-faced helmet on it.

Well done Gordon. Looking sweet ! I particularly like the detailed guages on the dashboard.

Gordon,
Any person (into slotcars or not) seeing pics above will be able to tell in a heartbeat - you are completely in your element when it comes to tuning slotcars.
Neatly done indeed and full marks to you.
Luke

Thanks Luke. Yes, I really do enjoy building and preparing my slot cars. I had a chance to test it at last night's event and it ran OK, but needs some adjustments to get it a bit more stable in the turns so that it can keep up with the competition.
