SSC and FRC SlotIt cars BLTs

Post by Luke »

Hello All,

This post concerns the overall results of the SlotIt Challenge SSC (BBQ Sunday) Event ... Even though - Ramesh (the host) will remember I didn't stay to witness the final four (4) drivers compete ... I still wondered (some days later) how they finished off ..?

Nonetheless - I could have given Ram a call but Tony was the one I chatted with (by chance) for awhile ... and in cheerful conversation knowing him to be one of the finalist - asked how he did in same race ..?

He was very happy to reply but took a few seconds (well) before he could say something ... and in driven detail how he (Tony) placed 4th. with Marlon in a close 3rd. Reshad in 2nd. & 1st place went to Luke B. ..!

Anyway - sound like it was a very entertaining and exciting race ~ probably even more so with Ram's energetic commentating :)

However - here's a short report and firstly - must thank Ramesh (again) sponsoring me a SC car with each driver doing 4 races by 15 laps. In qualifying the 11 drivers were using lane 3 only - setting (average) BLTs of 6.8 seconds ...

Remembering (somewhat) these best times ~ Reshad 6.5 - Luke T. 6.4 - Tony 6.3 - Marlon 6.2 and (best of all) Luke B. with a scorching 5.8 seconds ..!

That all said and interestingly enough ... drew a comparison between FRC and SSC SlotIt cars BLT and TRL circuits.
  • FRC (17:8:17) SC Event BLT 5.2 seconds - TRL: 075' approx.
SSC (20:8:17) SC Event BLT 5.8 seconds - TRL: 110' approx.
Knowing the difference (in size) with these 2 circuits ... it's not much of a gap/split and believe it's the gearing that had a major part to play with lap times - correct anybody ..:?:
