Spent a couple hours today trying to figure out how to replace or fix my rally Alpine's guide flag drop arm and eventually chose to fix it. I first superglued the two drop arm pieces together to hold them in position, then cut two aluminum strips in the special shape required, bent them to match the contours of the sides of the drop arm and superglued them in place. I finished by wrapping gorilla tape around the middle of the guide flag and it appears to be pretty strong.
I had to do some other minor chassis work to get the now slightly wider drop arm to fit and pivot properly and this aspect is working well.
