Luke, there are two other reasons why it's better for the driver who de-slots to stop the race. First of all it's in his interest to stop everyone ASAP so that he doesn't fall back any more than necessary. He's got his eye on his car 100% of the time so he'll certainly see it the moment it de-slots. The chief steward will not always be as fast because his eyes can't be on all cars at the same time. Secondly, in the case where a car de-slots and another runs into it we will know which caused the crash since that's the button that will be down (assuming the driver is a sport - ethical and fair).

Hello Gordon,

Don’t figure I maybe bent on a 7th (perfect number) kill switch ... because sure it can be installed if you see it necessary.

However thoughts with racing scenarios ... your reply (directly above) is understandable for the (known) experience group of a racing drivers but if it’s a situation with an inexperience group of racing drivers ...
  • Would you be allowing them to use this new and accurate feature STOPING a race.
In case you didn’t ... wouldn’t you say it’s a point to consider ..?

It is a point to consider and, as you said, can be easily added.. Now, if only we can get new drivers regularly.
