My latest acquisition...

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

For those of you who didn't stay back after our last event, I just thought I'd let you know about my latest slot car acquisition (I showed it at FRC after we put up the track):

Image

Its from Pioneer and is actually Scalextric Digital-plug ready. It comes with their "Typhoon" 18,000 RPM motor and brass rear bearings:

They currently have a range of both notchback and fastback models:

Pioneer have some other cars coming out in this category including some '67 Camaros, '70 Barracudas and '71 Javelins, Maybe we can can create a stock "Pony Car" class for these, the Scaley Mustangs and Camaros, as well as the Ninco versions. AutoArt also have some, as does Carrera and Monogram.

Some regulation thoughts:
  • Full interiors.
  • Standard magnets.
  • Standard motors.
  • Minimum ground clearance.
  • After-market tyres allowed.
Let's have some feedback here, positive and negative. (Suggestions for regulating them too.)

8-) Gordon,

The price ($55US) isn't bad at all @ Electric Dreams. I see that its also DPR and the chassis looks very user friendly. There is a Twin Pack offer available with these (No.22 Blue & No.21 Red) pioneer cars for $77US ~ which is my kind of thing. Who knows what could play off if some of these type cars should come into the country... ;)

How come you didn't obtain (or not interested in) the new Scalextric C3065 1970 No.33 Camaro model? Its a great looking killer of a slot car with your racing number on it.

Did you check the Ninco 50576 Mosler... I think you will love that one too :D

Good ones Luke :D

Love the "Gordon" livery!

Of course I've always been a Ford man.

What do you think of the class and regs?

Sounds Great to me Gordon!

I'm good 2 go with it...

Some dialogue with the rest of guys and a pioneer or two on the circuit should do the job :)

I book the No.17 yellow & black pioneer :D
