Re: VS IROC car progress

Post by gordon »

Guys,

I tested the eight cars after last Thursday's event and have the latest lap times update:

Scalextric Ford GT40 - 6.4 sec
Scalextric Ferrari 330 P4 - 7.3 sec (this car had an unknown problem which i'll be sorting out)
Revell-Monogram Cobra Daytona - 6.7 sec
Revell-Monogram Ferrari 275P - 6.4 sec
MRRC Ford Mk IV - 7.3 sec (this car also had a problem which I suspect is a failing chip)
Revell-Monogram Chaparral 2 - 6.6 sec
MRRC Cobra - 6.4 sec
Revell-Monogram Lola T70 - 6.6 sec

All these times were done with the same driver. Aside from the two cars with problems, the time difference slowest to fastest is 0.3 sec. Things are shaping up quite well considering the variation in manufacturers, chassis, motors, gearing, tyres and car weight.

GG,

Out of the 8 cars and the ones listed (Thursday gone) for extra testing - note 2 of the 4 are sorted out ...

Its good to see the Scaley Ford GT40/18K motor is doing the kind of lap times you're looking for - as well as the neat work done with the Lola T70 8-)

The MMRC Ford Mk IV looking like you have it covered. Although, the Scaley 330 P4/18K motor is strangely off the pace and you not sure why ...
  • 1. Scalextric Ford GT40 ................. 6.4 - G2G
    2. Scalextric Ferrari 330 P4 ........... 7.3 - Unknown
    3. MMRC Ford Mk IV ..................... 7.3 - Failing Chip ...
    4. Revell-Monogram Lola T70 ......... 6.6 - G2G
Well, as you already know my Scaley 330 P4/18K motor was doing lap times (6.3 @ the FRC 2-Hours event) that you're looking for and if need to use/see this 330 P4 as an outline ...

Consider it done :)
