Hi Guys,
I lowered the track today for the first time in over a month in preparation for a return to racing at FRC this coming Thursday. I started by disconnecting and re-connecting the sections of track approaching the final turn to ensure that the contacts were re-established on a dead section in the inside lane in that area (remember?). Haven't tested it, but hopefully it is now fixed. I also replaced the lane changer on the main straight just before the pit exit, having changed a corroded wire inside it's electronics.
I then re-glued the pit fence with a better adhesive and wiped off all dust from the surface of the track, vacuumed the cobwebs and cleaned the rails with isopropyl alcohol.
Newly-painted markers for the horses.
Work in progress. The 2 x 4 lengths of wood are holding the pit fence in place while the glue sets.
The front straight lane changer is back.
So... are you guys ready to go racing again this week?
Gordon
