Racing this Thursday 12th November

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice, testing and racing from 7:30 PM this Thursday (12th November) for our Group D classes, Modified Production - 3 races @ 30 laps, F1 - 5 races @ 30 laps.

There'll also be races for our "Group N" drivers (novices/newcomers) using our IROC cars.

Remember that we try to start our events no later than 8:30PM sharp. Here's the usual schedule:
  • Free practice and testing up to 8:30 PM
  • 8:30 PM - Technical Inspection (excluding IROC classes).
  • Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
  • Post-race Technical Inspection (if required)
  • After racing - Packing up and liming/old talk (but not too late!).
You can see the 2015 class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Please indicate in the poll above whether or not you'll be attending. You may change this as many times as you like up to the event date.

GG ~ That is Hamilton's 2007 debut year in a F1 McLaren Mercedes No.2 car and watchfully followed by the next F1 McLaren Mercedes ...

Hey GG - I don't know if you noticed I made a F1 mistake here but I did this public holiday (Divali) morning.

Its my bag (mistake) with that F1 McLaren Mercedes No.2 car ... I did get the driver's name correct but the wrong year with car.

Its the No.2 MP-4 25/2010 model and not the No.2 MP-4 22/2007 model ...

I picked up with this mistake because of 2 things in photo - the yellow Renault (third car) and the front wing design on the McLaren car.
  • MP-4 20 / 2005 - Drivers: Raikkonen/Montoya
    MP-4 21 / 2006 - Drivers: Raikkonen/Montoya/Pedr de la Rosa replaces Montoya
    MP-4 22 / 2007 - Drivers: Alonso/Pedr de la Rosa/Hamilton (debut) replaces Pedr de la Rosa
    MP-4 23 / 2008 - Drivers: Hamilton/Kovalainen
    MP-4 24 / 2009 - Drivers: Hamilton/Kovalainen
    MP-4 25 / 2010 - Drivers: Button/Hamilton
    MP-4 26 / 2011 - Drivers: Hamilton/Button
    MP-4 27 / 2012 - Drivers: Button/Hamilton
    MP-4 28 / 2013 - Drivers: Button/Perez
    MP-4 29 / 2014 - Drivers: Button/Magnussen
    MP-4 30 / 2015 - Drivers: Alonso/Button
This list shows Hamilton's debut year in 2007 and the correct car being driven in 2010 ... Which also means the drive in McLaren behind him is J. Button.

Enjoy the holiday,

Luke
