Racing this Thursday 29th October

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice, testing and racing from 7:30 PM this Thursday (29th October) for our Group C classes, Mini Challenge IROC - 6 races @ 20 laps, Rally Car - 3 five-lap stages per car, 1 car at a time (90 laps for 6 cars).

There'll also be races for our "Group N" drivers (novices/newcomers) using our IROC cars.

Remember that we try to start our events no later than 8:30PM sharp. Here's the usual schedule:
  • Free practice and testing up to 8:30 PM
  • 8:30 PM - Technical Inspection (excluding IROC classes).
  • Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
  • Post-race Technical Inspection (if required)
  • After racing - Packing up and liming/old talk (but not too late!).
You can see the 2015 class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Please indicate in the poll above whether or not you'll be attending. You may change this as many times as you like up to the event date.

GG,

I voted (Yes) already - attending FRC racing tomorrow ...

Plus I must mention how these pics look very action-packed ..! Especially the Mini Challenge race with 3 fast paced cars in attack mode ..!

Also noticing how the red No.51 BMW Mini (and FRC's Scalextric C2881 Red No.6) checkered roof car entering the corner, maybe for an up and under maneuver for the lead.

Sure you may remember how FRC's 6 MC IROC cars originated with 7 persons individual cash contributions, 5 separate orders, 4 online hobby stores and (believe it or not) all done in 2 weeks - January 2013.
  • Persons:

    1. Luke
    2. David "boo"
    3. Kerwin
    4. Gordon
    5. Alex
    6. Steve
    7. Mike Lazzari

    Orders:

    1. C2881 BMW Mini Cooper - Red
    ... C2992 BMW Mini Cooper - Blue

    2. C3128 BMW Mini Cooper "Twin Pack" - Dark Blue & Yellow

    3. C3073 BMW Mini Cooper - Scalextric Logo
    ... C3175 BMW Mini Cooper E - Grey

    4. 6 C7005 Scalextric Digital F1 Chips

    5. 6 C8421 SP MOTOR 20K RPM with Wires
    ... 3 C8471 BMW Mini Silicone Tyres x 4

    Hobby Stores:

    1. Electric Dreams
    2. Power Slot Cars
    3. Professor Motor
    4. Pendle Slot Racing
I also noticed some of these high impact cars are now going for $60 - $90US ... and just 2 years ago, they were $30 - $35US and good thing we got them ... when we did ;)

 The Red C2881 BMW Mini is $90US at Electric Dreams :o

Luke, I don't know where you get this info, but you always seem to get info and stats that others have no idea about. Always interesting to read.

Wonder why they are priced so high now?

Well GG - It's all right here on the forum ...

For all that, one must check out this bit of (you tube) info ...

Its about the real 1:1 car ~ Scalextric C3175 BMW Mini Cooper E model and the reason for the electric plug symbol on the roof.
I (and sure you plus others) have always wondered why is that yellow plug symbol on the roof of FRC's No.1 grey BMW Mini.

GG,

Me again and just to fine tune some info above ... with order No.5 and 2 racing components.

6 C8421 SP MOTOR 20K RPM with Wires
3 C8471 BMW Mini Silicone Tyres x 4 (6 pairs)
1. The MC cars didn't use the 20K rpm motors (they were all handed over to TSCC benefit) but still make use of the stock 18K rpm motors.

2. The silicone tyres were all fitted to these cars ... after a few racing events on stock rubber tyres.

I just had to mention that and see you later :D
