Tightening the reins a bit

Guys,

I've amended our General class regulations (at the top of our FRC Classes section) to clarify the definition of "Standard" magnet requirements (item 16).

When preparing a car for FRC competition, I'd like to ask all competitors to please refer to the regulations for the class it will be run in to ensure that it complies. I suggest you go through each item in the rules and use them as a check list for the car in question. Here are the items you need to check:

General (all classes)
Body
Chassis
Minimum Ground Clearance (certain classes only)
Interior
Digital Chip
Motor
Gearing
Motor Pod (where applicable)
Magnets
Wheels
Axles
Tyres
Guide Flag

Please also be reminded of the following post:

Gordon,

As you wrote this it made me remember chatting with someone who is on the forum and looking on and drawing assumptions.
If someone broke the rule they should be disqualified and you should not have to remind us about the rules. We all have been racing at FRC a long time and all know the rules.
Yes, we will will always look for an advantage and you may have to adjust the rules accordingly if the rule is not explicit enough, however looking from the outside, people draw assumptions that individuals are cheating in order to win, hence the reason for all the rule changes. It will be great if the reasons for the changes are noted and documented so they will understand the level the sport has developed. I don't believe they know advanced FRC tuners are in this sport and the need to keep the speed real.
