Hi Guys,

Despite the continuous rainfall, eight drivers turned up for a night of racing in three classes for some of our least-modified cars. This enthusiasm for slot racing was shared by Steve and his young son Jonathan who showed up to look on and give a hand at marshalling. The racing was very competitive, these cars having to be carefully driven to avoid de-slotting, yet pushed as fast as possible to remain in contention. In the Historic Saloon class no one did this better than Kyle in a car that's not the best handling of the group, a Scaley Ford Cortina. He won the first two of three races run, placing third in the third (and final) class race, only to be demoted to sixth in the final results for not having served an un-servable drive-through penalty incurred on the final race lap. Despite this he still took class honours in a very closely-fought championship, the first three places being separated by one point each.

Restricted GT and Slot.It Challenge were less-closely contested and were dominated by myself and Dougie, respectively. The racing in these classes was still full of action and excitement and it was good to go for a full night of races where there were no power issues generated by over-powered/over-magnetised cars.
