The results seems to be posted faster as well.
It was a good night of fun racing. The RGT was very competitive. Congrats Steve on your victory.
The MGT is a great race. The challenge of choosing the right car for each race is really something that is major part of your result. I enjoy this a lot more than the Porsche. Lambo's etc.

Arden

Another night of great racing at FRC with a good driver turnout and the second consecutive appearance of Paul after such a long absence.
I really looked forward to the new low-downforce Restricted GT class as I had the similarly restricted Mod. Prod. class and was not disappointed. There were a few new machines making their appearance but it seemed like the Porsche 911 GT1 was the car of choice. Luke had a lovely looking example but unfortunately it developed problems and was unable to race. Fortunately he had his trusty Lotus Evora to fall back on. Gordon's lovely front-engined Viper was certainly an eye opener as was Arden's McLaren which was extremely fast.
The Mixed GT event was great fun as usual, with very close racing and the added challenge of having to select cars. Sorry about the marshalling errors I made but I must have been mesmerized by the exciting racing going on.
Congrats to Ramesh on the Mixed GT and overall victory !
Looking forward to the next event.

Up this hour (if noticed) because I'm watching WI vs NZ quarter-final 2015 WC cricket match ... somebody please (maybe Arden) tell Marlon for me things not looking good for "our" boys atm ...

I guessed it - NZ 395/6 and WI 225/9 with 20+ overs to go

If its one thing I learnt about WI cricketers - you cant go beating a slowcoach horse in a race ent hehe

Out of the Big 4 (semi-finals) Teams its a South Africa & India FINAL

Anyway, its quickly back to our slot car racing and across the board it was a phenomenal night - especially in the RGT class.

I personally had some very "extra" thrilling races in MGT ... but RGT was the total opposite

Although, I was very impressed with all RGT/US-D cars ... and their lap times.

• • Gordon .................. D/Viper (red and white striped) "dark horse" car.
  • Steve .................... Porsche 911 GT1 "dark horse" car.
  • Arden .................... McLaren MP4 12C car
  • Ramesh ................. Porsche 911 GT1 cars.

These were the predicted times and the spot on results - see how my time was way-off target and still off the pace with predicted time

• 1. Ramesh/Luke B ......... 5.2 - 5.5 sec. = 5.240 & 5.303 seconds
  2. Arden ....................... 0.0 - 0.0 sec. = 5.255 seconds
  3. Steve ....................... 5.3 - 0.0 sec. = 5.299 seconds
  4. Gordon ..................... 5.8 - 5.9 sec. = 5.946 seconds
  5. Luke ........................ 6.5 - 6.8 sec. = 7.457 seconds

Mind you, after seeing how fast and well handling these cars were, I knew my results was going to be bad in RGT.

NTL, I was fully focused for MGT ... and my plan of action with 6 cars was almost oh so perfect ..!

• • 2 - 997 cars = 2 thirds
  • 2 - 430 cars = 2 firsts
  • 2 - Lambos = 1 second & 1 fourth

I believe I had the best possible & consistent results with racing choice of first 2 cars, surprised myself big time with second 2 cars but the third 2 cars ... I thought, it was a sure thing with the Lambos for my next two first place positions - until Ramesh came along that is :/

This guy was so focused going forward in is races while standing next to me that I almost heard him doing so and here's a description of it ...

When one is driving a "real world" car with a 5 speed manual and changing gears from 4th to 5th. at speeds in excess of 100+ kilometers per hour - for those of us who know what that feels like ... That's exactly what Ramesh's focusing sounded like, standing next to me to the very end of the last race, while trying to go pass for a win

Believe it or not, he took a deep breath then exhaled and is as if he sank down into a racing car bucket seat in a standing position - changing gears of concentration ..! ent Ram LOL

Here's a list how the 10 drivers with 6 races each for a total of 10 wins panned out 3 - 2 - 3 - 1 - 1 below.

  6. Alex ........................ 0 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 0 - 1 = 24 pts.
  7. Arden ...................... 0 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 0 = 20 pts.
  8. Marlon ..................... 0 - 0 - 0 - 2 - 3 - 1 = 16 pts.
  9. Paul ........................ 0 - 0 - 0 - 2 - 1 - 3 = 11 pts.
  10. Dion ...................... 0 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 2 - 4 = 08 pts.

Hard luck to GG with 3 wins but still finished 3rd. position. That 1 extra point, sure made a difference for me ent

Congrats to "north boy" Steve winning in RGT (but hard luck less 1 point for C/Driver) and Hats off to Ramesh as Champion Driver of the night.

He "drove like a champion" in MGT and noticed Luke B. wasn't his IROC racing self ...

All the same, great seeing him around and all others like Alex, Paul, Marlon & Dion.

Btw GG - the pic of the last MGT gird would really be a nice finishing touch with 6 different color cars

Hi guys just from the interest shown by average times for RGT i knew we were in for a very thrilling night of racing and that it was. Luke T you did well to promote the event and about after race stats you are very talented .This event brought out three new cars to the grid and i must say these guys are doing well . Congrats to Steve and Arden of a very outstanding performance , and Gordon s viper is right up there, i know Luke T will sort out his cars by next event . I just love when racing gets close it energizes me to do more , its one of the things i look forward to . Mix gt was close and really exciting between Luke T and I , he made me work for my supper , he is a very good driver , hope to see you all soon , bye Ramesh

How you started putting text named classes next to subject Race Report No./Date ...

eg: RACE REPORT #188 - March 19th 2015 (RGT, MGT)

This way is very helpful and easy for one to refer to a report/article.

Now posting pics with reports is also helpful to describe in an effective short space how interesting the occasion was & makes reading more enjoyable

Also, I'm glad Ramesh enjoys and appreciate my after report stats - after all, that's what it's all about because I sort of live it up too
