To ensure that you check your MP and RGT cars correctly for the new "upside down" 2015 rule, here's what you need to do:
- To perform the test, we'll be using the same half-track section that is used for the 45° test. This track section is reinforced by using three strips of wood glued to the bottom of the track to prevent it from flexing, even under the stress of a magnet-equipped car. I suggest that you do something similar with the track section you plan to use for checking your own cars. Remember that it must be Scalextric Sport track.
- To check a car, first place it in the slot on the track section right side up and ensure that the car is centered along the track rails.
- Next, while holding the car in place, flip the track section upside down at eye level and ensure that it is horizontal.
- Finally, release your hold on the car (but keep your hand ready to catch it). If the car sticks to the track, you need to decrease the downforce.
