Hi Guys,
We had a very small turn out of five drivers on Wednesday night. One of these was new FRC driver Vinny who enjoyed his first race event running primarily in our new Restricted GT class. The class itself looks like it will become a popular one since its real easy to get a car going for it. Those of you who have a GT car sitting around (there are many) can very quickly put together a competitor for the class. All you need is a motor under 23,000 RPM (you can even use a stock 18,000 RPM one initially) and make sure that you use only one of the stock magnets for the chassis in one of the standard magnet locations and you're ready to go. To be a bit more competitive you can play with different wheels, tyres and gears but that's where the fun is anyway.
As planned, we ran three classes - Historic Saloon, Restricted GT and Slot.It Challenge - and limited it to three races for each. Despite the small turnout, we all had the usual fun, this time without the pressure of having to finish high enough to make the grid or qualify for the A category in each class.
Next event's classes: F1 and GT.
See you on the circuit...
Gordon
