2014 Overall Class Points Update

Next event's classes: Next week Thursday's event will be our final scheduled one for 2014 and its a special one where we're introducing a new Vintage Sports IROC class featuring six unique cars from the '60s (no two are the same), running a variety of chassis, motors, gear ratios, wheel sizes, tyres, etc. They are of varying weights and specific calculated downforce (maximum downforce cannot exceed 3.5 times the car's weight). We're also racing them without A and B subgroups. Instead here's how this particular event will be run (this example assumes that there will be 12 drivers):
  • All drivers will qualify the same car.
  • The top three qualifiers and 7th, 8th and 9th will drive the first six heats, each driver driving each car.
  • The 4th, 5th and 6th qualifiers and 10th, 11th and 12th will drive the next six heats, each driver driving each car.
  • The final six races will comprise the drivers placing in the first three positions in the two groups of heats, based on accumulated points. Again, each driver will drive each car.
  • Heat races will be over 20 laps, final races over 25 laps.
You can read more about the cars we'll be racing here:

So come out and finish the 2014 slot car season in a special way where you're sure to have a great time.

Finally, don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars, the updated class average qualifying times and the updated 2014 Class Points Standings.

See you on the circuit...

Great fun as always at FRC. Congrats to Luke B. on winning all three classes raced , and of course taking the overall victory. I think the Group 5 result of three drivers having the exact same racing points (each having scored a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd) was a first, with Luke B. winning the class by dint of his pole position point.
Looking forward to the next event.
