RACE REPORT #169 - July 3rd 2014
Father and son digital newcomers Peter and Elijah joined ten regular drivers for another fun-filled night of racing at FRC. Scheduled classes Modified Production (MP) and American Muscle (AM) were supplemented by a full six races of Lambo Series for the marshals present (LSM).
Luke B took pole in both MP and AM, setting a blistering new lap record of 4.849 sec in the former. Restricted-modification MP is now almost as fast fully open AM! Maybe we need to do like the FIA and put in some new restrictions to slow MP back down a bit.
Steve and Ramesh put up a great fight in the MP and AM modified classes, but they were no match for Luke B's scintillating performance of winning nine of the ten races for the two classes. The LSM races proved to be very close for the six drivers who competed. Despite having never raced digital before, both Peter and young Elijah did well against the more seasoned drivers in the class, Elijah quickly learning the lane change technique. The night's top LSM driver wouldn't be known till the computer had crunched the numbers.
The results
Congratulations to the winners.

Another night of good racing at FRC. Really enjoyed the side-by-side action ! Pity about the problems encountered by Gordon's Mustang (Mod.Prod.) and Luke's Camaro( Amer. Muscle)Was also nice to see some new faces and to have a full grid for the marshalls race.
Looking forward to the next event.

Gordon,
Yes, it was a good night of racing for all ... but the only thing I found was a bit off, was who not hearing & the inconsistency of track calls - Red Flag/Stop
The changes you've made with FRC General Competition Regulations/Stewards - sounds very well structured & easily agreeable for all to cooperate.
Racers & non-racers alike - should have no problem acknowledging these new regs because I have always found that the person marshaling this sector "Control Tower" of the track, should be the only one (with experience) to make a Red Flag/Stop call during a race.
Racers and Marshals will automatically understand that this call during a race, will be made by the now known Chief Steward @ Control Tower.
You fittingly wrote, "A Steward is a person to ensure fairness in driving during races" and the person to do this job, at this fixed position is definitely - A Good Call
