Race Report #49 - Thursday 20th May, 2010

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

Although I don't have the time (or memory capacity) to go into the detailed reporting I once did, I'll add a few thoughts to these reports from time to time as they come to me when posting the statistics.

Last night's racing was nothing if not action-packed. With seven drivers in F1 and eight in GT, we had no "B" sub-groups so everyone was driving each race for a place on the grid in the following race. This at times led to some really exciting groups of cars lapping together in a bunch on both lanes, so much so that it looked like NASCAR had come to town. A look at the qualifying times indicates how competitive the racing was, with less than a second separating the first to eighth cars in GT and less than two-tenths of a second the first to sixth F1 cars!

Despite running a bit late, several drivers stayed on after the final race to do some "grudge" laps with each other, a testament to how much fun was had by all.

Congrats to the class championship winners Alex in GT and Dougie in F1.

Next event's classes: American Muscle and LMP - probably the fastest class-pairing that goes on at FRC, so look out for SPEED!.

See you on the circuit...
