Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for our milestone 2-hours endurance event from 3:30 PM tomorrow Saturday (7th June). The main competition will be the 2-hour race itself, however we will also be having supporting races prior to its start. Here's the tentative timetable (IROC races are open to all - cars will be supplied by FRC):
  • 3:30 PM - Track opens for practice
  • 4:00 PM - Kids Races (IROC Ferrari Challenge cars)
  • 4:30 PM - IROC Scalextric GT Challenge Qualifying
  • 5:00 PM - IROC Scalextric GT Challenge - Subgroup B (6 races @ 25 laps)
  • 5:30 PM - IROC Scalextric GT Challenge - Subgroup A (6 races @ 25 laps)
  • 6:00 PM - Food break
  • 6:45 PM - 2-Hour Endurance Qualifying (Vintage Sports cars), immediately followed by tech inspection (each car is in Parc Ferme directly after it qualifies).
  • 7:30 PM - 2-Hour Endurance
  • 9:30 PM - Post-race tech inspection, penalty adjustments (if any) and announcement of final results.

Alex will be supplying beef ribs and manning the BBQ, while various others have volunteered to bring along food to make up the meal. Everyone is invited to walk with liquid refreshments of your choice.

There will be a prize awarded to the driver who does the fastest overall race lap (not qualifying lap) in each Scalextric GT Challenge class (A & B), courtesy Luke T. Prizes are Scalextric "Easy Fit" C8515 Saloon & C8516 F1 DPR Chips.

Here's a list of the 2-hour endurance team entries thus far:
  • Luke T, Alex and Dougie ("The Perfect Storm")
  • Ramesh, Arden and Luke B
  • Marlon, Jon and Ron
  • Gordon, Steve and Nicholas E. (Spick)
  • Ian and Josh
  • Still open (I have a car available)
Since each team can comprise either two or three drivers, there are still four potential driving positions open, one to join Ian and Josh and up to three for a sixth team.

I encourage you to come along and bring others to enjoy an evening of fun and competition for this history-making FRC event.

Reality Checks - in keeping with the theme of our main event, they're all about the Sebring 12-Hours endurance race in the '60s:
