RACE REPORT #165 - May 8th 2014

Amongst the nine drivers who took part in our 165th event races was digital and FRC newcomer - but long-time slot car racer - Mark H. Mark last raced slot cars some forty years ago but turned up to check out what digital racing is all about. It didn't take much convincing to get him on the track, first trying out some cars then running some races with our other regular marshals, Marlon and Jon.

Our scheduled classes were Group 5 Sports Cars (G5SC) and F1. Luke B. was quickest in G5SC qualifying while Arden blew everyone and the lap record away in F1 with a blistering time of 4.643 sec. In the G5SC races Luke B. was dominant with second places being shared amongst four different drivers. In between the two classes we ran three Lambo Series races for the marshals present, including Mark. The final set of races were for our F1 cars and this time Luke B totally dominated, winning all five races, leaving the rest to fight for second.

The usual fun was had by all and, judging from his comments and reaction, I'm sure that Mark will be back at FRC to continue to hone his skills in digital racing.

Next event's classes: We won't be racing this week however next week Thursday we'll be having a test session in preparation for our upcoming June 7th FRC 2-Hours Endurance event. As usual, don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars, the updated class average qualifying times and the updated 2014 Class Points Standings.

See you on the circuit...

Great night of racing as usual. Was nice to see Mark H.back in action on the track. Congrats to Arden for that blistering F1 lap time. Congrats also to Luke B. on winning both classes and also therefore on his overall win.
Looking forward to the next event (Test/Tune session).
