Guys,
At present, whenever we have a class divided into sub-groups, the last-placed group A driver gets far less points than the first-placed B driver. It is therefore in the interest of everyone to be in group B for the best chance at getting more points.
I would like to propose that in future situations like this, we add first-place points (normally 9 points) to each group A result so the points in a 6-car group A race will look like this:
18, 15, 13, 12, 11, 10
In a 5-car group A race they'll look like this (6 points added instead of 9, as per our point system):
12, 10, 9, 8, 7
Group B points will remain as normal (9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 for a 6-car race or 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 for a 5-car race).

I totally agree with this suggestion.

Re: Subgroup points suggestion
This has now been implemented for all events going forward from today. Here are the Champion Driver points from our last event based on the old and new points system (this is just for example sake... the original lower totals still apply):

Well thought-out points system GG ...
Re: Subgroup points suggestion
Gordon,
Agreed.
Can you relook at the points system for 5 drivers. Personally when there are 5 drivers I find there is not much of a difference between 2nd and 3rd. I was thinkiing 7 pts for 1st, 5pts for 2nd, 3pts for 3rd, 2pts for 2nd and 1pt for 5th.
When there are 6 drivers its great, but we still have to work very hard for 2nd place and 4 pts while the person who comes 4th only gets two points less.
This is just a thought since you are looking at differentiating the group A and B. If you think it is fine the way it is np.

Re: Subgroup points suggestion
Arden, I would like to base this on the current point system that we've been using:
