Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice, testing and racing from 7:00 PM this Thursday (1st May) for our Group F classes: Nissan GT-R Super Series IROC - 6 races @ 25 laps, Restricted GT - 5 races @ 35 laps. As with all our IROC classes, those of you who don't have a car for Restricted GT can still come and drive in the Nissan class. This will be the inaugural event for these cars so you may make FRC history by becoming a winner! Remember that our events now start no later than 8:30PM sharp. Here's the schedule:

• Free practice and testing up to 8:30 PM
• 8:30 PM SHARP - Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
• Winning cars will be checked for compliance with the regulations after the last race for each class (excluding IROC classes)
• After racing - Packing up and liming/old talk (but not too late!).

Here are the specific Restricted GT class regs (blue text indicates any changes for 2014):

Restricted GT (RGT)

• Body: Must be modeled after a two-door car which competes in GT racing and must comply with General item 2. Windows may be tinted so as not to reveal the cockpit - see Eligable Cars below.
• Chassis: Standard for the particular model.
• Minimum Ground Clearance: 1.0 mm / 0.040".
• Interior: Free but must comply with General item 3.
• Digital Chip: Free.
• Motor: 23,000 RPM or lower, based on manufacturer's specifications.
• Gearing: Free.
• Motor Pod (where applicable): Standard for the particular model.
• Magnets: Up to 2.5mm thick and must be positioned in one of the standard magnet locations for the particular model.
• Wheels: Free.
• Axles: Free.
• Tyres: Free.
• Guide Flag: Free.

GG - As foretold ... about chipping the 6 Nissan GT-R cars.

I finished (2 original X 2 new type - Slotit brand) chipping 4 of these cars and the other 2 cars will be done at your home later today. All because, the next 2 chips will be coming from the south boys this evening (courtesy) Arden & Ramesh... As luck will have it, the chips are 1 original & 1 new type respectively, which means there will be a 3 X 3 type with these chipped cars

Must say, the pic of White Nissan GT-R looks very menacing and that "red square" in the middle of the tail lights - looking like the red flashing light that's on a Formula One car.
