An idea for FRC's end of year event...

Hello All,

I got a phone call from Ramesh this evening and he spoke about a number of interesting racing ideas for FRC/TSCC slotcar racing... A good point he made about the IROC Ferrari F430s, Porsche 997s and Lambo Gallardos that (although with different rpm's of 20, 21 & 25K respectively) they are the same type cars to race and when you think of it he is right because of the low centre, sidewinder motors and single 2mm bar magnet setup. He also said we can race these cars for/as together and call it an Exotic Racing Event.

The only thing though (not sure if Ramesh noticed) we had an event like this already (25/4/13 ... Race Report #124) and it was called the Mixed "IROC" GT Event.

That said...

 How about calling this end of year 2013 race an Exotic Event and race the "best lap times/pairs" of the six Ferrari F430s, Porsche 997s and Lambo Gallardos cars..? Something like how the FTC class is done and each team go on race the other two sets of cars.

The Mini Challenge cars could be used for the Kids Race Event...

GG,

A next idea for all to know about keeping all drinks cold in one location... of your yard.

I will organize a half size plastic drum with 4-5 bags of ice (Luke B. champion driver's bag could be added here too:) to pool/cold all beverages and for all to partake of...

Also doing my signature "surprise chow" and bringing a bottle of DarthVader pepper sauce 8-)

BTW just for the record - So far I have invited 4 adults (walk with what yuh drinking) and with 5 children :D

I think you will be okay with that and with plastic drum in your yard.

I'm bringing some bratwurst sausage with a little dipping sauce. Luke, do you need me to bring a bag or two of ice for your plastic drum ?

Hey GG,

Now looking over racing ideas/posted for this event and forgot bout that non-magnetic "wet-weather race" suggestion...

Do you plan doing this type of race still?

Guys,

How about these race suggestions (not necessarily run in this order):

All drivers qualify with the same car within each class.

Wet weather race
IROC Ferrari F430s with magnets removed but weights retained in front magnet positions. Fastest 6 qualifiers will race. Proposed race length: 30 laps. One race only.

Mini IROC class
Groups A and B if necessary, based on qualifying times. Proposed race length: 20 laps. 3 races per group (drivers move down 2 cars after each race).

Mixed GT (Exotic) Team class
6 Ferraris, 6 Porsches, 6 Lambos. Teams established based on qualifying positions using the following 12-driver example:

1 and 7
2 and 8
3 and 9
4 and 10
5 and 11
6 and 12

Each team must race 2 of each type of car. Each team's drivers alternate for each race. Each driver must drive three races. Proposed race length: 25 laps. 6 races.

We can also have one or more kids' races, perhaps with the voltage reduced to say 10v.

These races sounding real great Gordon but reduce voltage for the kids :o dont think you have to because like you forgetting about the children of today...

They adapt very fast, so if its the MC class they racing ~ drop on some silicones which there are 3pks. x 2 pairs in stock and sure they G2G with that :D

Hi Gordon,
I like your ideas for the races today. I'm sure that some of the guys will bring along other cars to test or just drive. Depending on what guys bring, maybe we could have another race if enough are from a particular class. I'd love to see a rally car race !
