RACE REPORT #145 - October 10th 2013

After missing the previous two events, team Bhola were back at FRC in their usual top form to compete in our American Muscle, GT and LMP classes. Luke B. showed he meant business by taking pole in all three classes, with dad Ramesh not far behind.

My Boss Mustang ran well in AM, leading the races at times, but suffered some reliability problems and on-track incidents that eroded its potential. The five race wins were shard by three different drivers, with just one coming out on top. Ramesh took the opening win in GT but the battle for top honours was mainly between Steve and Luke B. Only four drivers took part in the LMP races which again were dominated by Luke B.

An interesting point to note was the amazing time recorded by Luke B.'s Porsche 911 GT1 in practice. He beat the long-standing 4.302 sec all-time lap record held by Dougie since May 2011 by doing a 4.2xx sec time! Unfortunately he was unable to go under Dougie's time in official qualifying, so Dougie retains the record... for now!

New Lap Records
  • LMP - 4.408 sec (Luke B., Scalextric Cadillac Northstar)

See you on the circuit...

Great night of racing as usual, despite not having a full grid. Welcome back Ramesh and Luke B. Congrats to Luke B. on that new LMP lap record and also on winning all 3 classes raced and, needless to say, the overall win.
Looking forward to the next event.
Steve

At the start of the night' I said that realistically , the best I could hope for was an Index of Performance victory (sounding like Fernando now, saying at many races that the goal is to make the podium). Well, I achieved my goal !!
