Hi Guys,

With Thursday being a public holiday, FRC will be open for practice/testing from 7:00 PM this Wednesday, followed by qualifying and racing. Scheduled classes are Ferrari Team Challenge - 6 races @ 30 laps, Rally Car - 5 five-lap stages per car (1 car at a time). Please bring your cars ready to go. Here's the proposed schedule:
  • 8:00 PM - Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
  • After racing - More free practice and impromptu grudge races, followed by packing up and liming/old talk (this time as late as you want).
You can see all the class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Ice Brigade: Ramesh (1 bag please).

Love the photo of that 458 Italia: livery is so simple and clean.
Also like the rally pic showing how crazy the fans can get !

Steve that's from the mad Group B rally era, the most dangerous period of rallying history. Those cars were turbocharged monsters prepared by the manufacturers for rally honors. The Lancias at one point had both superchargers and turbochargers at the same time! And there were no electronic and other driver aids. They were eventually banned after a number of drivers, navigators and spectators were killed over the first few years of the class.

Check out this video and get some inspiration for Wednesday:

Those Group B rally cars were truly fearsome beasts. No wimpy sequential boxes here but real gearboxes with a clutch and drivers 'heel and toe-ing' to down shift.
