Proposed new class groupings

Hi Guys,
I'm looking at changing the class groupings so that we run just two classes at each event. I realise that its difficult fitting in the three classes in a timely manner, considering that we also need time for car repairs. It will also give us a more relaxed atmosphere if we aren't rushing to get all the races done. I know that we recently changed from running three races per class to five, however I would like to maintain this in the interest of giving everyone better opportunities to improve on a bad start, something not easily done with only three races.
In preparing the following proposed groupings, I looked at the average lap times by class and started from the bottom moving up to try to ensure that on a given night the classes raced are not radically different in performance (times for the Nissan GT-R class is a guess since we have not run these cars as yet). I also attempted to schedule our IROC classes for every other event, where possible. This is presented for your feedback, so let everyone know your thoughts and suggestions:

I dont think the Nissan GT-R "IROC" class will be ready in time... Maybe by the end of the year or January 2014.
Still need to get 3 Cars, 6 pairs Silicone Tyres and 6 Digital Chips and feel we may need to get the Slot It chips because of the 26K rpm motors.
An average cost of $250.00US Ship/duty not included.

GG - I agree with what you doing and like the new grouping idea but really find that the AM, GT & LMP classes should stay as is...
Even the 50s, 60s & 70s (VS,HS & G5SC) classes too
You dont find this is a good idea I came up with?

Luke,
Your proposal was perfect and I would have seconded it were it not for the fact that I don't want to be running late and be rushing through the racing. Drivers generally start arriving around 7:30 PM these days and we seem to have trouble getting started after this. By the time we do start I would have already been working on setting things up for over three hours and although you are one of those who almost always stays back to help pack up (which I appreciate), even after everyone leaves it takes anything from 30 to 45 minutes before I am finished sorting out the dogs, eating dinner (if I don't earlier), closing up the house, bathing and finally getting to bed. I sometimes don't even get time to practice. Last Lambo race event my first practice lap on the track was my qualifying run and I promptly de-slotted before getting a time. I'd like to be able to get a few laps in like everyone else before qualifying.
Let's get some more feedback and I'll think about it some more. We don't have to make a decision on this immediately.

Gordon,
I like the two classes per night.
I will like to see Mini and F1 together.
AM and Rally.
I don't like the idea of Rally and Mini together.

HI LUKE WAS THAT 250.00 US YOU STILL NEED? THEN YOU SUGGESTED GORDON SHOULD GET A SALERY OR IS IT CELERY, AFTER THE CARONI BRIDGE SPELLING MIGHT CHANGE. THERE IS NO PAYMENT MORE REWARDING, FOR HIS LABOUR OF LOVE MORE THAN RESPECTING HIS TIME AND HOSPITALITY, AS I AM ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT HIS HOUSEHOLD AFTER 12PM , ESPECIALLY ON SCHOOL NIGHTS. WE IN SOUTH ALSO GET TO BED AROUND 2AM ALSO. GG SUGGESTION OF 2 CLASSES IS FINE FOR ME , THE GROUPING IS GOOD, START AT 7PM END BY 10PM PACK UP BY 1030,GET TO BED BY 12PM. SOUNDS GOOD IN THEORY LETS GIVE IT A TRY. BYE RAMESH

I typed up a response to this earlier but it did not go through so I'll try and remember the main points.
Basically I find that 8 events for a class to roll around is a bit long-I would like to race my cars more often. I agree that time for repairs is necessary for the highly modified cars but not so much for the slower classes. I have come up with a suggestion which has 4 groupings of 3 classes, all of which contain 1 or more of our 'IROC' or standard classes, and 2 groupings of 2 classes, these being the faster cars. These groupings would be as follows:
1) Mini, Rally, GT-R
2)SC, MP,FTC
3)PC, HS, VS
4)F1, Lambo, G5
5)GT, LMP
6)AM,RGT.
On the nights with 3 classes raced, the races could be reduced in length from 30 to maybe 25 laps in light of the fact that there would be some slower classes here. The GT, LMP,AM and RGT races could stay at the same length.
If this (or similar) is adopted, cars will be raced in 1 out of 6 events instead of the proposed 1 out of 8 events.

Steve,
Good suggestions. This is why we have a forum... to get everyone's views and find the best solutions to the challenges we face. I'll put together a table with your suggestions (like the ones I've posted above) and look at it carefully for possible minor changes then submit it to this post.
One question... what class is GT-R?
