New class rules & regulations: clarification needed

Hi Gordon,
I note that in the 3 stock classes which use FF motors, the 18,000-20,000 rpm FF motors are allowed. Does that mean that (1) cars fitted with FF motors of between 18,000 and 20,000 rpm as standard equipment will be allowed but the standard motor as fitted to the car must be retained or (2) any FF-motored car can be fitted with an 18,000 to 20,000 rpm motor ? I think that a 20k motor should only be allowed if it is fitted as standard equipment to a car.
On the list of eligible cars for these classes, I saw no mention of SCX cars. My Historic Saloon Fiat 131 uses an RX42B motor which is neither an FF nor an FC130 type but is rated by SCX at 18,000 rpm. Would this car be allowed to continue in this class ?

Steve,

I've clarified/corrected these issues in the regulations. My reason for initially using the 18,000-20,000 RPM range is because, depending on where you look, the standard FF motor is rated in these ranges. I've changed the regulations to show 18,000 RPM thus confirming that it must be the standard motor fitted to the car.

Regarding your Fiat and SCX motors, both have now been addressed in the regulations.

Gordon
