Hi Guys,

I can't host an event tomorrow as I've been fighting a virus for the past two days and am still not totally back to normal (but getting there). Instead, FRC will have a practice/testing session and the inaugural event for our new Mini Challenge class this coming Saturday from 4:00 PM. We'll start by chipping the six Minis then spend the rest of the afternoon/evening having fun on the track. Luke has given us a head-start with the chipping by drilling the holes for the optical sensors, so its just a matter of gluing in the chips and soldering them to the motors.

Hope to see you on Saturday.

Gordon

Its finally here ~ The 2013 BMW Mini Cooper Race :!:

Well done Gordon and thanks for making this call (sick & all) to start off this new event.

Letting the guys know ~ Just for the record, we will be chipping these cars to race with the stock 18K rpm motors, rubber tyres and single bar magnets (per car) and not use, for the time being the 20K rpm motor and silicone tyres as planned.

Remember our first dry run with one of the Minis (OTB) with only a DPR chip was doing lap times of 7.558 seconds, which was very impressive for a stock car.

GG get well soon :) to start racing some stock Minis...

Luke

Although we didn't have any 'official' races, the very competitive and close driving with these cars hints that it will be a great series.
