RACE REPORT #115 - JANUARY 17TH 2013
Hi Guys,
For the second event in succession, seven drivers turned up for our Lambo Series, F1 and Modified Production class races and competition was as close as always for most of the time.
A point worth mentioning: In the first F1 race I had an experience which should be a lesson for all FRC competitors. Fairly early into the race I had apparently driven into Arden's car on exiting the final turn, something instigated by a temporary blind situation when another driver blocked my view. Both our cars de-slotted and Arden called a "drive-through". Having not seen what happened, I thought that we had both been driven through by an unidentified other driver, so I continued driving to the end of the race without doing the obligatory stop-and-go penalty in the pits, something I would always do. The moment the race ended, Arden asked me if I had done the penalty. It was at that moment that I realised that I was the one who had done the drive-through and of course had not done the penalty, something that automatically demoted me from winner of the race to last place.
So, here's the lesson for all of us: If ever someone calls a "drive-through" ensure that you are not the person responsible. Likewise, if ever someone does a "drive-through" on you, be sure to notify the person and tell them that they must do a stop-and-go before the race ends. In my situation it sullied my F1 results and stopped me from winning the night's overall championship. So, all take heed!
The results
Congratulations to the winners.
Next event's classes: American Muscle - 3 races @ 40 laps, GT - 3 races @ 40 laps, LMP - 3 races @ 40 laps. Don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars. Also of interest are the updated class average qualifying times.
See you on the circuit...
