Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice from 7:00 PM this Tuesday (the day after the public holiday), followed by qualifying and racing. Scheduled classes are Lambo Series - 6 races @ 30 laps, F1 - 3 races @ 30 laps, Modified Production - 3 races @ 30 laps. We'll run A and B subgroups if there are more than 8 entries in any class. Please bring your cars READY TO RACE so we don't finish too late. Here's the proposed schedule:
  • 7:30 PM - Qualifying. Drivers not ready will start whatever races they are ready for at the back of the grid in the order they arrive at their driving station with car on track.
  • 8:00 PM - Racing starts. Again, drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any excess drivers who are ready.
  • After racing - Packing up followed by liming/old talk.
You can see all the class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Ice Brigade: Ramesh (1 bag please).

See you on the circuit...
Gordon

Gordon ,

Can we use a slot it chip in the mod prod with a 30k.
I prefer to use slot it chips than scaley. Only because I am not that good in setting up digital cars I prefer to use them rather than blow a scaley chip.
I Have already blown two scaly chips with 21k motors.

Arden, please pass this by Steve. I initially put in the Scaley F1 chip rule to try to challenge car builders to find a balance between high power and strong magnets without blowing the "weakest" chip type. I've had others request what you're asking but Steve seems to be inclined to stick to the rule. If he doesn't object, I'll change the rule and you're good to go.

GG ~ ent u is d Boss... So doing the best thing shouldn't be hard.

In a case like this - think the greater number (me included) should count over the smaller (one) number.

Yes... Its an interesting slot car challenge for digital old body builders in MP class but yet some of us still not up to speed in GT, AM or LMP classes :? ent steveaca

After all, is only you and Steve that race this class like this anyway... So whats the big deal about clearing it with Steve to change the rule or is it your way of keeping it so .

When last I remembered - I blew a chip in this class & we talked about the rule how it is and thought you were going to make the change for new bodys... :D

 Let who want to use what chip they want and those who want to take up challenge can still have a boast afterwards.

GG ~ Realized my last post was a bit off the topic (wasnt looking at the bigger pic) and my idea probably will not go down to well.

To tell you the truth, when you think of it the rule as it is, is a good one - The choice of 25K with any chip & 30K with only a F1 chip...

So lets go MP Racing tomorrow :!:

Keep being the great FRC boss that you are plus trying to keep all racers happy :D

Sorry about my last "whatever mood" post ~ Maybe I should go Hash for a Wife

For everyone's information, based on some emails between myself, Arden and Steve, the Mod Prod rule remains as is:
  • Cars with motors up to 25,000 RPM can use any chip.
  • Cars with motors over 25,000 RPM must use an F1 chip.
Remember that motors cannot exceed 30,000 RPM in this class.

If Ramesh isn't coming, as the next highest points scorer last week, I'll bring the ice. No need to repay me Arden.
