Hi Guys,
Haven't had the time to prepare this report so I'll have to be short. Our "slow" night, despite the lower speed of the cars, was as competitive as always. We ran all three class races for each class - Porsche Cup, Historic Saloon and Vintage Sports - before moving on to the next class.
Qualifying was very competitive, however an interesting statistic surfaced once the computer analysed the qualifying results: the lap record for the Porsche Cup was broken by O'Brie with a time of 7.300 sec. Congrats partner!
After running the Porsche Cup and Historic Saloon races we once again had a break for an excellent BBQ, with pork supplied by Boo who won the vote as champion of the night for this. O'Brie contributed two sets of sauages to the BBQ while Luke brought some excellent Chinese chicken from a local Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, after the substantial break for preparing the BBQ and cooking the meat, three of the nine drivers present had to leave beacuse of the late hour. This precluded them from both taking part in the Vintage Sports races as well as being contendors for the Champion Driver of the Event award (Brent attended but did not race, otherwise we'd have had ten drivers).
Once again, between the competitive racing, the camaraderie and the food, FRC drivers had a great evening. I finally hit the sack at around 12:30 AM with a smile on my face.
Congratulations to the winners.
Next event's classes: Restricted GT, Slot-It Challenge, Lambo Series (3 races each @ 30 laps - 270 total for all classes). Don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars. Also of interest are the updated class average qualifying times.
See you on the circuit...
Gordon
