August 4th event report

Hi Guys,
Well those who attended will tell you that we never ended up doing any racing at our scheduled August 4th event. Rather, we tested cars and generally joked and chatted while having the usual drinks and snacks. We didn't race because the turnout was relatively small (5-6 drivers) and my plan for racing all classes, while interesting, was a bit ambitious, especially in view of the time allotted. Perhaps we can do it some Saturday in the future. I was able to test my Mod Prod-prepared Mini Cooper and Audi, as well as my latest iteration of the Riley, all of which were revealing in what work I still have (or do not have) to do on them.
However, the most interesting car we tested was one of my new birthday-gift Lambos that I had managed to prepare based on the class specs (25K Scale Auto motor and Maxxtrac M2 tyres in an otherwise standard Lambo) and it is fast! Best times for it on the night were in the 5.8 second range and the handling is way better than the Porsche Cup cars so we'll be having some interesting racing with these once they're all ready.
