RACE REPORT #359 - June 20th 2026 (SCnm, VSGTnm, VSPRnm)

Our seventh event for 2026 featured a new class grouping comprising our Slot.It Challenge, Vintage Sports GT and Vintage Sports Prototype classes. Unfortunately, Peter was under the weather with the flu and did not venture into the FRC track room. We still had a five driver turnout, which included Ramesh who stretched our capabilities as he always does whenever he attends.

The racing was as close as ever, with every driver taking at least one podium. It was a serious matter of concentration trying to stay in the slot whilst making every effort to keep up with or pass anyone. Everyone suffered de-slots during the course of both qualifying and the races themelves. Of course there most often is just one driver who manages to score better than the rest and so it was for this fun-filled event.

We closed off with a final boardroom meeting before packing up until our next session, something we always look forward to.

Just a single pic from the event featuring three GT40s – driven by Liam, Ramesh and Steve – in line on the same lap going down the back straight during a race:

Great racing event as usual at FRC ! It was nice to have Ram attend and race. Too bad that Pete was under the weather and couldn't make it out to race.
The racing was as tight and enjoyable as it always is these days, except for me in Slot.it Challenge. Can't figure out what's wrong with my Nissan as it just doesn't handle well at all. I'm now suspecting a warped chassis. My new Hillman Imp made a cameo appearance as did my reworked MGB. Both need a bit of sorting.
Congrats to Ram on winning Slot.it Challenge and Vintage Sports GT outright . Congrats to Liam as well for jointly (with Ram and myself) winning Vintage Sports Prototype class . Congrats to Ram for winning the overall event title and to Liam for taking Index Of Performance accolades.
Looking forward to the next event !
