RACE REPORT #347 - October 18th 2025 (CMnm, SCnm, F1nm)

We had six drivers racing at our 347th event for our Clubman, Slot.It Challenge and F1 classes, a perfect turnout to ensure full grids, despite this number being reduced as the races counted down. Warren also brought along his daughter and fast-growing baby boy, who he quite amazingly is able to hold while driving! Merryl also came by for the lime and lent a hand with his usual marshalling. Even Mark dropped in briefly during our first boardroom meeting on his way to another engagement.

We ran two races for each of the three scheduled classes, Clubman, Slot.It Challenge and F1, the first race for each class having fully-subscribed grids. The second round of races saw diminished grids as Warren left and O'Brie eventually opted out, leaving the remaining driving to just four of us. The races themselves were quite close and competitive, any de-slotting mistakes made being quickly taken advantage of by others still running.

I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the first Slot.It Challenge SSDC results, so we had no lap times to show for that race. Steve thankfully had recorded everything else on our paper document.

After an afternoon of exciting competition, we closed off with the now obligatory second boardroom meeting before everyone left for their respective homes.

Luke unfortunately was unable to attend, so we didn't get the usual array of sideline pictures and just have my two boardroom pics to start things off:

Great racing event as usual at FRC !
It was really good to be racing again after what seemed like a very long time. The driver turnout was good as well and it was nice to see, other than the regulars, Liam and Warren. The racing itself was great fun as well. I particularly enjoyed the first Clubman race where Gordon and I had a close battle going for basically the whole race. There were some unfortunate chip failures which crippled some cars (Peter and Warren). At the end of it all, congrats go to Gordon on winning all three classes and obviously taking the overall event victory. Congrats also to Liam on taking the Index Of Performance accolades.
Looking forward to the next event !

It really was an enjoyable event and not just because I managed to do well. The whole lime and camaraderie, along with the action on track, made the afternoon really a lot of slot car fun.
