RACE REPORT #339 - May 10th 2025 (KBnm, VSGTCnm, VSPRnm)
We had just five drivers at our 339th event, this one for our Kitbash, Vintage Sports GT and Vintage Sports Prototype classes. Despite the relatively small turnout, it was actually a very enjoyable evening of racing, with Ramesh again attending. Both Merryl and Kent also turned up, but neither raced.
It was the first event where we applied the new method for determining the magnetic effect of motors, the new requirement being that the car be placed on a single lane Scalextric track piece and the rear raised to see whether the track stuck to the car. If it stuck, the car is illegal. Simple as that. Fortunately no car failed the test.
Relative newcomer Mark (Millar) attended and drove in all the races and it was great to see how he progressed, his driving improving with each race. Congrats Mark! Ramesh had his usual extremely well put together cars which dominated qualifying for each class, in the end winning all but one race.
After arriving at the track, I realised that I'd forgotten my phone at home, so Luke thankfully stepped in and took all the pictures for this event, with me just doing their final cropping for this report.
Some pics to start things off, thanks of course to Luke:
