2024 End of Year Endurance Race

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys, here's the information for our final official point-scoring event of the year:

FRC 2024 END-OF-YEAR ENDURANCE EVENT
  1. Saloon/sedan and sports cars only, not models of cars designed specifically for racing and not GT cars.
  2. All lap times should be over 9 sec. A leeway of 0.2 sec will apply, so minimum time will actually be 8.8 sec, however any car with a fastest lap between 8.999 and 8.8 sec will incur a 10-lap penalty. Any car(s) with a fastest lap under 8.8 sec will be inversely placed based on its fastest lap relative to any other cars under 8.8 sec. Eg: If two cars' fastest laps are under 8.8 sec, the faster of the two will be placed fourth, the other third.
  3. One to three drivers per car.
  4. Race distance of 400 laps (this works out to be approx 1 hour).
  5. Three race stoppages to change drivers, based on first car to achieve 100, 200, 300 laps (or 15, 30, 45 minutes).
  6. The drivers attending who are within the top six 2024 championship points scorers must be on separate teams. Their teammates will be randomly picked from the other drivers present.

I like it !
Some of my thoughts are as follows:
-three mandatory driver change pit stops but teams determine when they want to do them
-for single driver teams, pit stops must still be taken but car must be atatio ary in pits for minimum five seconds
-disabling of track call function: drivers not actually driving will perform marshaling duties
-cars may be repaired during race by drivers of the particular car, in which case he second driver will be temporarily relieved of marshaling duties
-race steward or Clerk Of The Course present to ensure compliance
