RACE REPORT #329 - November 9th 2024 (Rally Car, Time Attack)
Ramesh joined six other drivers for our second Rally event for the year, to which we added a new Time Attack class as a second related category. As attendees know, we run the rally class a single car at a time over a rally stage comprising five timed laps, with drivers using different cars. The Time Attack category was done similarly, however it differed in that the same car was driven by each driver, again over five laps.
We initially planned to use one of the newly Luke-refurbished FRC Ferrari Challenge IROC cars for the Time Attack, however Ram offered one of his quick Peugeots and this was used instead. Whilst both categories provided their own challenges, the first having a variety of different cars, the Time Attack elimited the car variable, putting all the drivers on an equal footing. As the results below show, this made for some interesting surprises. Congrats to Keith who did the fastest lap in two of the three Time Attacks!
The competition provided a challenge to all and the event turned out to be a great afternoon of driving. Time Attack is sure to be included for future rally events.
