RACE REPORT #312 - Jan 13th 2024 (BTCCnm, GTnm, LMPnm)
After six months of waiting, FRC finally held its first official event at its wonderful, brand new location at Peter's home. Known for not doing things half-heartedly, Peter went all out in renovating a room off the back of his house which has now resulted in a lovely air-conditioned space, complete with a large flat screen for clearly displaying the SSDC race management software information for all present. It includes a great workbench area and a shelving system for temporary storage of items, a small refrigerator for keeping the beers chilled (courtesy O'Brie), comfortable chairs, a large four pane externally tinted window, a removable-covered, open-air area outside the main room with table and chairs, primarily for after racing drinks, socialising and camaraderie-building. There's quick and easy access to a washroom as well, all without disturbing the main house.
During the suspension of racing, the guys also did some great repair work on the track, one of the prime things being the installation of a rigid new perimeter fence.
It was also nice seeing Luke with his brand new Racer Sideways Capri. He installed a chip while there and ran some test laps with the car with its beautiful blue livery. Unfortunately we didn't get a pic of it to post here. Thanks to Luke too for taking several of the pictures posted here.
It was wonderful to have the first of hopefully many great times in this superb location. Here are a few pics to start off this first race report of 2024:
