RACE REPORT #280 - October 17th 2019 (MP, RGT, RLMP, F1)
We had exactly six drivers competing in our Modified Production, Restricted GT, Restricted LMP and Formula 1 races, the fastest cars we race at FRC. Although present, Anthony did not compete, instead testing his BTCC cars in between the races. My Canadian-resident long-time friend and fellow karter and rally driver from the '70s/'80s, David Cuthbert (also the voice of racing at Wallerfield back then) had his first test session at FRC, initially driving one of our IROC Porsche 997s, then doing laps with my RLMP Lola-Aston and Alpine rally car after the races.
With each race set at 50 laps, the racing itself was full of the usual action, MP starting things off with several crashes. By the time we moved on to RGT and RLMP, things had settled down and cars were running many laps in close bunches without de-slotting. The craziness and crashes returned with our last race for F1 cars, during which we finally remembered to record the action with photos, something we neglected to do before. As a result, other than the starting grid pics, the only action shots featured here of F1 cars.
Despite the lack of pics for the other classes, as well as car problems experienced by some drivers (O'Brie in particular), we all had the usual challenging, entertaining and fun-filled time that six-cars-in-two-lanes digital slot racing provides!
The results
