Ground clearance and the USD rule

Post by gordon »

Had a discussion with Arden today after he brought up something that should have been obvious to me, but wasn’t. He basically asked what my thought process was for having a 1.0 mm ground clearance for a class that specifies the USD rule.

Now I do remember when I proposed it on the forum as a quick attempt to slow down the RGT and MP classes (see Restricted GT and Modified Production in this post: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1087). Of course, when you think about it, having a minimum ground clearance in a USD class makes no sense at all.

Goes to show that one person can’t think of everything, so thanks Arden.

Effective immediately therefore, I’m removing this 1.0 mm ground clearance requirement from any class which requires that cars obey the USD rule.

I agree with this. It should make set-up a lot simpler .

He He! That makes sense!!! Never realized that it was of no significance with the USD rule. Good call Arden
