RACE REPORT #257 - August 16th 2018 (HS, APC, VS6075)

After almost cancelling the event, a response from Ramesh that he and the south boys could attend gave the go-ahead and it turned out to be a really busy, action-filled night of racing in our Historic Saloon, American Pony Car and Vintage Sports '60-'75 classes. Although O'Brie could not make it, we still had six drivers in attendance, all of whom competed in all nine races run.

After a long absence, it was great to see Luke B at FRC and as the results show, he made his return known in no small terms. Richard brought along a car he had been preparing for VS, but was unfortunately unable to get it going, so he became the Gonsalves stable's number two driver, racing my spare cars in each class. It was also good having Arden present, as he has been unable to make it on a regular basis of late.

Despite trying to get going early, between testing, the racing and some enjoyable socialising, we finished our last race at around 1:30 AM Friday morning!

A full paddock of cars came out for racing in our vintage classes, Historic Saloon, American Pony Car and Vintage Sports '60-'75:

Great night of racing at FRC. Nice to see the return of Luke. B to racing action. As can be seen by the results, he hasn't lost a bit of his driving ability . It was his first time using the kill switch button but he quickly got the hang of it. It was a bit strange at one point hearing him say that he wished his car had more 'coast'. Usually drivers like their cars to have good brakes !
Congrats to Gordon on winning the Vintage Sports GT class, to Ram on winning the Vintage Sports Prototype class and Index Of Performance and to Luke B. on winning the Historic Saloon and Pony Car classes as well as taking the night's overall win.
Looking forward to the next event.
