RACE REPORT #251 - May 10th 2018 (HS, APC, VS6075)
A small turnout of four regulars arrived to do battle in our "back to the '60 and '70s" classes, Historic Saloon (HS), American Pony Car (APC) and Vintage Sports '60-'75 (VS6075). These included O'Brie, Steve, Ramesh and myself and we were joined by Dennoy who also brought his son to check out FRC and digital racing. Both appeared to enjoy the time they spent driving FRC's Porsche Cup IROC cars as they got more familiar with the challenges and rewards of driving on a digital track.
In the scheduled FRC races, competition was close, particularly in HS and APC. The two VS6075 sub-classes (Prototype and GT) were raced concurrently as is the new norm and although being enjoyable, would be more so with a full grid of six cars instead of the four that raced. Check out the results to see who dominated.
A paddock full of cars for a relatively small number of drivers. Some cars are turned on their sides to keep their freshly-cleaned tyres free of traction-stealing debris:
Results
Historic Saloon starting grid. My Capri on pole followed by Steve's MkII Escort, Ramesh's Capri and O'Brie's Capri:
American Pony Car starting grid. Ramesh's "Bhola's" Camaro on pole, my Mustang Notchback, Steve's Javelin and O'Brie's Camaro. Three manufacturers on the grid - Chevy, Ford and AMC:
Vintage Sports '60-'75 starting grid. Ramesh's Alfa 33/3 is on pole followed by O'Brie's Ford GT Mk IV in the Prototype category. Steve's Cheetah lines up ahead of my Cobra Daytona both in the GT category:
My Cobra Roadster lies upside down after losing control going through the kink just before the Dunlop Bridge:

Congratulations to the winners!
Next event's classes: Class grouping B - Rally Car (RC), Slot.It Challenge (SC), Formula 1 (F1) (3 races/stages).
