Racing this Thursday 26th April (MP, RGT, RLMP)

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice, testing and racing from 7:30 PM this Thursday (26th April) for our Group C classes - Modified Production (MP), Restricted GT (RGT), Restricted LMP (RLMP). We'll run races for our two latest classes, American Pony Car Sportsman (APCS) and GT Sportsman (GTS) for non-regular FRC drivers or we'll run special IROC races if we have at least two new drivers present.

We plan to start at 8:30PM sharp. Here's the usual schedule:
  • Free practice and testing up to 8:30 PM
  • 8:30 PM - Technical Inspection (excluding IROC classes). Cars will be moved to the parc fermé location after they are inspected and comply with the requirements.
  • Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
  • Post-race Technical Inspection (if required).
  • After racing - Packing up and liming/old talk (but not too late!).
Key points to pass tech inspection:
  • Modified Production - Motors up to 23,500 RPM; no American muscle/pony cars allowed; 1.0 mm ground clearance (see the "General" section of the class regulations for a picture of how this will be checked); magnet location restriction if motor exceeds 20,000 RPM; USD rule.
  • Restricted GT - Motors up to 23,500 RPM; 1.0 mm ground clearance (see the "General" section of the class regulations for a picture of how this will be checked); USD rule.
  • Restricted LMP - Motors up to 25,000 RPM; 1.0 mm ground clearance (see the "General" section of the class regulations for a picture of how this will be checked); USD rule.
  • All classes that stipulate the USD rule - Cars must drop away from the test block with the block held still (no shaking). Any weight added to the car must be positioned within 2.5" (64mm) and ahead of the rear axle.
You can see the 2018 class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

What in the world people are drinking on Earth for Heaven’s sake ..!

Sorry but the first pic looks rather disturbing with advertising because couldn’t help not thinking there’s already an energy drink named Monster ...

So now it have to have a next one named Hell energy drink - REALLY :|

Anyhow - see you’ll at the FRC circuit :)

However, the racing action looking “hot & fiery” from other cars alike and hoping my recent (self tuned) Ninco or Scalextric slotcars are at least doing the same thing at this grand 250th. event on the FRC circuit ;-)

Here’s a check list of recorded lap times / classes:
  • 4.7 MP
    4.5 RGT
    4.3 RLMP
It’s going to be a tough and exciting night looking at these high in quality lap times :D
