Reverse grid starting position

Hi all,
I know we briefly discussed the prospect of a 'reverse grid' system (News/Something new for 2017) but didn't pursue it. I'd like to again propose it for our Non-IROC classes as I think it would make the racing more exciting and the results closer. If not universally applied, we could maybe consider this for our production car-based racing classes, ie. Historic Saloon, Modified Production, American Pony Car and Restricted GT.
What do you think ?
Steve

Steve I'm all for trying new things if they result in a better slot racing experience for all. If we're going to try this, I'd suggest we do it for a slower class rather than a fast class, so Historic Saloon seems a good place to start. How do you propose we do it for the usual three races for the class?

Hi i think its a great idea, we can give the reverse grid a fair try. There are many challenges with faster cars being in the back , one of the main ones will be the issue of a blue flag , also not enough overtaking points and racing lane and overtaking lane ,must be defined. Its worth a try any time. Bye Ram.

Hi all, my proposal would be to start the first race as per qualifying times and then run the subsequent two races based on the finishing positions (in reverse order)of the previous race.
Under ideal conditions and assuming equal drivers, in three races with full grids, the fastest qualifying car would start from pole and win all races. Points awarded would be 27. Slowest car would start and finish last in all races and get a total of 3 points. With the reverse grid system, the outcome could be something like this:
Race 1:
Car #1 starts and finishes first . 9 points
Car # 6 starts and finishes last. 1 point

Race 2:
Car # 1 starts last and finishes 4th. 3 points
Car # 6 starts first and finishes 3rd. 4 points

Race 3:
Car # 1 starts 3rd and finishes first. 9 points
Car # 6 starts 4th and finishes fifth. 2 points

Car # 1 total points: 21
Car # 6 total points: 7

Point spread between # 1 and # 6 is now 14 points and not 24. These 2 cars would represent the fastest and slowest cars and the points earned by other cars in between would possibly be within this range.

Sounds fine to give it a try as far as I'm concerned. We could even try it for HS this Thursday.
