Race report #61 - Monday 27th December, 2010

Hi Guys,
We only had six drivers turn up for our December "special event" so we just ended up voting on the classes to race based on the cars present. This resulted in running the same three classes as our last event - GT. LMP and AM, in that order. It was good to see the return of Shane and he certainly surprised me by how competitive he was in cars which had literally been sitting down for months untouched. He was able to finish second in two of the three classes run. Laird too has started to get better results with his LMP contender as he figures out how to get it going better and better.
A note on the qualifying results below: I omitted to record the actual lap times for qualifying, so the times column is actually the qualifying grid position.
Congratulations to the winners.
Next event's classes: Historic Saloon, Restricted GT, Slot-It Challenge. We will have two special guests at our next event, provided you guys agree to race next Tuesday, the 4th January 2011. One of these guests is our regular visiting driver Peter (Edghil) on vacation from Nigeria and the other is Ray Carthy, an avid slot racer and motor racing fan visiting from the USA. Ray found out about FRC while investigating INOX MX3 on SlotForum and contacted me after he arrived in Trinidad. The reason for racing on a Tuesday is because Ray leaves Trinidad on Thursday.
So, next event is on Tuesday coming.
Happy New Year to you all!
See you on the circuit...
Gordon
