RACE REPORT #238 - Aug 17th 2017 (RC, SC, F1)

After a long absence, it was great to see Arden back at FRC. Five other drivers joined him for our rally car stages (RC), Slot.It Challenge (SC) and Formula 1 (F1) event. Qualifying was extremely close at the front with just two tenths of a sec separating pole from second place in SC and three thousands of a second for the same spots in F1! The races themselves had their fair amount of action and some crashes too, while Steve was a big challenger to reigning champ Ramesh in the rally stages, taking an upset fastest time in stage two and actually topping the points in the class.

Congratulations to the winners.

Next event's classes: Class grouping C: Modified Production (MP), Restricted GT (RGT), Restricted LMP (RLMP) / Nissan Super Series (NSS) IROC (3 races).

Don't forget to see the updated overall fastest times and the fastest times by driver and class for 2017 to know what the benchmarks are for your cars, the updated class average qualifying times and the updated fastest times for 2017.

See you on the circuit...
Gordon

Great night of racing as usual at FRC. It was wonderful to have Arden back and his driving clearly hasn't suffered due to his absence. Some of the highlights of the evening for me were as follows:
- how well Gordon got his Nissan R89C to work
-O'Brie's mastery of his rally Porsche 911
-Dion's very quick learning to drive a rally car
-driving Anthony's lovely Slot.it Challenge car (which I think can be competive with just a little fettling).
Congrats to Ramesh on winning all classes raced and, naturally Champion Driver of the event. Ram also took Index of Performance awards.
Looking forward to the next event.
Steve

Congratulations to Steve who actually got the fastest times in rally stages two and three, therefore winning two of the three stages and losing the overall rally win to Ramesh by just 1.716 sec!

Guys,

Was great to be back. Hopefully will start getting my cars set up soon for the new classes.
Gordon rally points and wins should be based on either wins or time. It is a bit confusing. You had a better time than me and we had same amount of points. You should have had more points since you had a better time.
Lets hear the views of others.

Arden, rally stage placings are based on time and the overall rally places are based on cumulative stage times. These are what determine the rally winner and other places in the rally.

With regards to points which go towards the Champion Driver of the Event, stage placings - like race placings - determine these, using the usual point system.

Hope this clears it up for everyone.
