Race report #59 - Thursday 9th December, 2010

Hi Guys,
After some four and a half months of nothing, racing returned to the revamped FRC circuit last night. Eight enthusiastic drivers turned up to compete and we also had a short visit by two others, Marc and Nicky, the latter doing several laps of the now undulating track in a few different cars. Going with the new format of running three classes per event every other week, the first set of machines to race were cars in the Historic Saloon, Restricted GT and Slot.It Challenge categories and the competition in all three was stiff yet enjoyable. Some very close dices were seen in all classes throughout the night, yet the spoils went not necessarily to the swiftest, but more to the surest - those that stayed in the slot the best.
We ended up running a total of ten races before closing off around midnight.
Congratulations to everyone who competed just for being there to get things going once again.
Next event's classes: Because of the fast approaching Christmas weekend, I need all of your input with regard to what I should plan for. Our next event should normally be in two weeks time, however that's two days before Christmas Day. Also, I was hoping to complete FRC in time specifically to have our second annual endurance event/cook-up lime. This I was planning for the Monday after Boxing Day. Please let me know your thoughts on what you'd like to do. I cannot plan without knowing whether you'll attend and would like to have a many of you compete as possible. Please post your thoughts below.
See you on the circuit...
