Racing this Thursday (9th December)

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice from 6:30 PM on Thursday, followed by qualifying and racing. Hopefully the weather will behave. Starting with this event, there are going to be a few changes worth noting:
  • As we now have nine classes in total, there will be three classes scheduled for each event. In order to accomplish this, each class will have no more than three races (instead of the usual five).
  • Racing will take place every other week instead of weekly. I will try to move this around to accommodate those like Boo whose work schedule may prevent them from racing. If someone wants to build a track of their own, that would be great and we could then race weekly once more, alternating between both tracks.
  • We will do our best to stick to a tight timetable for qualifying and racing so that we can get through the racing in a timely fashion (alternatively, we can race on Saturdays, in which case time will not be a problem for me - you decide). This will mean that people may miss qualifying and/or races if they are not ready in time.
New Class Groupings
  • American Muscle, GT, LMP (this is the fast night)
  • Historic Saloon, Restricted GT, Slot-It Challenge (driving and control night)
  • Vintage Sports, Porsche Cup, F1 (more driving and control)
This Thursday, scheduled classes will be Historic Saloon, Restricted GT and Slot-It Challenge. If any of you are not clear on the class regulations, you can check them out here.

Here's the timetable:

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Open practice
8:00 PM - 8:25 PM - Qualifying in 3 min sessions by class (up to 6 drivers per session)
8:20 PM - 8:30 PM - Computing grid positions and setting car IDs (controllers)
8:30 PM - Racing starts

Ice Brigade: Somebody please volunteer. We need two bags if we're going to do this like we used to.

See you on the circuit...

Sounds fine to me, however some losers may not have incentive to return ;)

OK that's two bags of ice (Luke and Laird - the two "L"s). No more ice needed!
