Next FRC event

Guys,

Primarily because of my Easter holiday schedule next week and the following week, our next event will be on 27th April. I had initially given thought to racing this week, but circumstances will not permit this.

I had a conversation with Ramesh a short while ago and he suggested that instead of racing the IROC Minis at this upcoming event, we race a special class with these simple requirements:
  1. Any non-open-wheel (full-bodied) car.
  2. No magnets.
  3. No high magnet-effect motors.
  4. General rules still apply.
Basically any car that would be legal for our Rally class is legal for this class, which I'll give the previously used name "Formula Libre". You can take any full-bodied car and put a chip in it and come race.

I think it's a great idea. What about you?

Gordon

Hi Gordon,
No problem with next meeting on 27th April. It would have been nice to race this week but I fully understand that your commitments do not allow this.
Re substituting the Mini Challenge class for a non-magnet special class for the next event, I think it's a great idea and would be very keen to participate. Other than the 'Wet Weather Race' that we did with Ferrari F430s some time ago, I don't recall us ever actually racing non-magnet cars. There will probably be a quite steep learning curve as drivers get used to cars sliding with other cars around, as opposed to rallying where one's car can use up as much track as desired.

It must be Luke to point out - you would say Gordon, because this is an alternating error ...

It suppose to be IROC SGTC next ;)

Did we race the Minis last time? I guess for the alternating classes we should decide whether:
  • To race the class that should have raced on the previous occasion but did not.
  • Race the alternating class regardless.

Hey Gordon,

The only IROC class raced for 2017 (so far) is the MC and got full points because it's "yes" to your question.

However - got no points for your guessing because have no clue what you mean ...

Mind you - I have no bone to pick ... for whatever slotcars are raced at next FRC event.

Hello Gordon,

How are you ..?

I am fine thanks ... and was home early yesterday evening taking a much needed (sleep) rest.

Anyway - think I will be rocking the FRC boat (a bit) very early this morning ..! Mind you - it's in a safe and positive way with the 4 (A, B, C & D) class groupings.

Its an ideal and simple adjustment with the 4 IROC (MGTC, MC, SGTC & NSS) classes - mainly concerning the SGTC cars ... I believe this suggestion will help you have less to think & see about ~ running race nights @ FRC ...

Here is the adjustment (grouping) list below and explaining further:
  • A:
    IROC MGTC / MC / NSS (alternating decision-making x 3)
    MP
    RGT

    B:
    HS
    APC
    VS6075

    C:
    IROC MGTC / MC / NSS (alternating decision-making x 3)
    RC
    SC

    D:
    F1
    GT
    LMP
It's a consideration that should be made between the both of us ... but still posting here so the other guys will understand and no need for you to explain afterwards ... saving you time again :-)

That all said to get straight to the point and out of all your FRC racers - must mention mainly you and I know how the SGTC cars was derived.

 How about you return the 6 SGTC cars to me, less the 6 DPR Chips because of the 6 pairs of Silicone tyres ~ of course considering/remembering all things done with these "high-impact" slotcars :?:

What do think from your longest FRC racer,

Luke

Good Morning Gordon,

Something else crossed my thoughts waking up this morning ... for whichever way you decide with suggestion above.

In case you or anyone else should wonder why ... with returning the set of SGTC cars - was put forward ..?

Other than lessening up the amount of IROC classes/cars (plus other FRC matters) under your care.

This thought only came to me (for us all) racing these same "high impact" cars on the Scalextric 4-lane Analog Circuit - David "boo" and myself are presently working towards at my home.

From my writing, one can tell a lot of thought was give about. So much so that (me, myself and) I made this an easy minded going recommendation ... anything more than that - I will have to make a movie :-)

Hi Luke,
I think it is a great idea to un-chip these cars so they could be used on the 4 lane analogue track that you are working on. It would provide at least a start as an 'IROC' class for guys who don't have analogue cars to race.

Which also means Steve you have no concerns/problems about the FRC class groupings without the SGTC cars?

Hi Luke,
I do enjoy racing the SGTC cars, as I enjoy racing all the other 'IROC' classes at FRC. I wouldn't have a problem however, if these cars were to be re-assigned to your analogue track. What it would mean therefore , is that we won't be giving up on racing these cars, just that we will be racing them at a different location.
