FRC will be open for practice, testing and racing from 7:30 PM this Wednesday (29th March) for our 2017 Group B classes, Historic Saloon (3 races), American Pony Car (3 races), Vintage Sports '60-'75 (3 races).

Remember that we try to start our events no later than 8:30PM sharp. Here's the usual schedule:
  • Free practice and testing up to 8:30 PM

  • Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.

  • After racing - Packing up and liming/old talk (but not too late!).
Key points to pass tech inspection:
  • Historic Saloon - Motor up to 18,000 RPM; USD rule. All magnets must be positioned ahead of centreline of the distance between guide flag pivot point and rear axle; Standard wheels.
  • American Pony Car - Motor up to 21,500 RPM; USD rule. All magnets must be positioned ahead of centreline of the distance between guide flag pivot point and rear axle; Standard wheels; Front tyre minimum diameter: 17mm on wheel. Rear tyre minimum diameter: 19mm on wheel.

Will be there for sure.
Would be nice to see models of some of the cars in the photos (Mini, Anglia, Cortina, Cougar, 250GTO) racing in these classes at FRC.

Steve, I have the Mini and Cortina (actually did some small work on them for Wednesday). I have the Cougar in a cart for some months already (still haven't decided) and I've always wanted a 250 GTO. The Fly one is really good looking and Scalextric used to have one, not sure if its still available. One of these GTOs with a 3D chassis would be quite nice.

Hi Gordon,
you sure have a full stable there. Very impressive ! Re the Ferrari GTO 250, I can't recall seeing the Fly one but I do remember that Scalextric did a lovely one. I believe it had a front-mounted motor.
